New changes

I am thinking of narrowing down my blog's topic to only food, skincare & makeup, travel and etc. I wanna focus on few topics so that my blog doesn't cover from a-z. And this will make me more focus and at least i know what i wanna write.

on work related, being in sales & marketing is really challenging for me. I am totally in love with this job but this job is stressing me out. I look so much older especially my under eyes. it's getting darker. My seniors who are my age look tired even with their make up on. I think i am on the waiting list to be one of them. Hitting my monthly target is a real challenge. If i don't hit my sales target i really cannot sleep although it's not month end yet. I am a loan officer and if you have enquiries, please feel free to ask questions relating to housing loan. I will try my best to help you out.

I have watched pirates of the caribbean- the stranger tides. Johnny depp is so cool and i love his character in the movie. the mermaids are beautiful especially the first mermaid that appears in the movie. she looks like amanda seyfried, but amanda is still the best! the quest to fountain of youth is interesting because it seems like a legend but it really exists in the movie. i like the beginning and ending of this movie cos it's quite exciting but the middle part really bores me to death! i would rate this movie 7 out of 10. it's worth your penny!!

choosing between choices

life is all about choices...i am always stucked between choices. it's always choosing between a or b, for whatever things. i wish i could be stronger, i wish i am not a piscean, because pisces is not like libra. pisceans always have hard time making decisions, and they change very fast, just like how fast water flows.

i still couldn't make up my mind on a very small issue...goddammit!

The Rose

the red rose

i believe most of us received valentine's day gifts like roses. i also received one from my valentine. one of my housemates also received one. she put it in the fridge at the door pocket. so it's really hard for me when i opened and closed the fridge. and she's so smart that she put it in a tall glass with water in it. so i don't really care about the rose, she can just put it in her room. my another housemate, sam was frightened for the first time when she opened the fridge. she was like - what the hell, something was popping out from the fridge!

the said flower

needless to say much..

what my smart housemate was trying to do is to preserve the longevity of the rose just like we, homo sapiens will do anything to be beautiful and to live longer. and also some people will just do anything without thinking of others' feelings and situations and just care about their own convenience.

Chinese New Year Eve Feb 2, 2011

it's really warm out there. it was raining just now but it only lasted for 5 mins. i heard from my mom and wk's mom that chinese new year (cny) is always warm, no rain and it is always like that when cny comes. tomorrow is a brand new day for all chinese around the world. during cny, i'd eat and drink as much as i want. mandarin oranges, kuih kapit, yeo's chrysanthemum drinks, pineapple tarts, pomelos, and many more.

but this year, i really don't eat that much. knowing the fact that i already gained weight even before i quitted my job, i keep eating constantly and my weight is still the same. i wish i can reduce 2kgs, but i just talked about it and never really started doing anything to reduce my weight. sighh~~ it's really easy to talk about something, but to put it into action and make it happen is really hard. we all love to talk, do we? i have to be more disciplined in reducing my weights. good luck to me!

as usual just like very year, i feel like i really am getting old and i am not excited anymore when it comes to cny. cny is just like every other day, the difference with other days is i see all family members and relatives reunite during these special days. i will spend more money than usual because i will buy some beverages for cny, biscuits, and canned food like pacific clams and lychees/longans. i really enjoy buying these stuffs every year. i will also receive ang pows from parents, popo, sisters and also relatives. the total $$ received will always be lesser than previous year. this is a fact because the older you get, the less excitement you'll get.

i wish all readers who celebrate cny a happy and prosperous new year, may this rabbit year filled with love, happiness, prosperity and many more. drink and eat all you want because only this time of the year you can eat and drink whatever you want or like.

Tangkuban Parahu

tangkuban parahu (tp) or volcano tour is whether a must go place in bandung besides shopping is really up to you. my travelmate and i wanted to book this tour but we changed our mind due to unpredictable weather in bandung. we checked online that it's gonna rain during our trip so we decided to book it when we reach bandung.

i had this feeling that tp is not going to be an interesting place. this is because when we reached the tp, all you can see is only the inactive volcano surrounded by haze. we booked a driver called aris and he charged us 400,000 rp for 2 pax. he told us everything is included: toll, parking, gasoline except entrance fee to tp. aris earlier said entrance fee per pax is 50,000 rp but he asked us for another 50,000 rp. we did not know whether driver needs to pay for entrance fee or not but we reluctantly gave him the extra 50k. i even said, "tak cakap kena bayar extra 50k pun." we ended up spending 275k rp per person for this trip.

when we reached the peak of tp, we were surrounded by many sellers who sell souvenirs. they kept following us like paparazzi. the feeling was like a popular celebrity. besides paparazzi, the weather is really cold up there. you have to bundle up and take your scarf with you. i remember my ears were getting really cold, numb and painful. i even wore slippers to this trip. i wish i brought my sneakers but i didn't.

check out my hair~ so windy and cold...

purposely taken this pic with the guys at the foreground. look at the haze~~

this is me~

with my lovely travelmate felicia~

in addition to the inactive volcano, there's an active volcano which no one told us. i thought to myself what's so interesting about the "dead volcano"? there must be something else...otherwise it will just be viewing the dead volcano. the active volcano is further down which we need a guide to guide us there. there's a counter info where the so called guides will tell you about tour to active volcano. we need to pay 250k for 2 pax. our driver will not drive us there and we need to walk about 1km with the guide. you can cook/boil eggs there, you can soak your feet if you have rheumatism and it is good for your legs. the guide will even return you half of the fee if you can finish the walk within 1 hour. yeah rite. with the cold weather i don't think i can finish it on time or i might even walk more than an hour to reach the active volcano site. plus we wore too little clothes and it's insufficient to warm our body.

my advice is: if you really wanna see the active volcano, you should go to this tp (tangkuban parahu). i chose not to go to the active volcano site 'cos i didn't bring enough $$ (which i need to keep for emergency) and i wore too little clothes. if you just wanna take pics and view the dead volcano, please don't waste your $$.

after the volcano trip, we got down from the mountain and headed to Kampung Daun for lunch. the food were quite expensive. i ordered nasi goreng kampung daun (kg. daun fried rice) which cost me 44,000 rp after tax. the fried rice tasted okay...i still prefer malaysian food where we have spicy, sour, salty, sweet taste. the fried rice has only 1 taste which is salty.

happily posing with my fried rice.

nasi goreng kampung daun...

love the old-fashioned irons. the irons are sticked together. i wish i can bring one home.

we told ourselves that we will be back to bandung maybe in 2-3 year time. it is really a good place to shop for clothes. it's not only a shopping heaven for women, but also for men. go visit this place and check out on airasia for cheap tickets!!

Bandung - Factory Outlets heaven

i went to bandung with my friend for 4 days and 3 nites. we got really really cheap ticket. so to bandung we went. our flight was supposed to depart at 10.25a.m. but the counter's closed when we reached lcct at 9.05a.m. so we asked airasia's staff personnel where to check-in but to our dismay, we were directed by the counter's staff to another counter - counter A. and we were ding dong ding dong-ing by aa's staff and finally we went to counter service. they asked us to go to one of the counters and we finally checked-in. luckily the airplane hasn't arrive otherwise we won't be able to check in. fuhh!

bandung is a place where a lot of factory outlets (fo) are located. i'd advise you if you wanna visit this place, 3 days and 2 nites are sufficient. 4 days are a bit too long. i personally recommend you to:

1) Rumah Mode (pronounced Moh-der) (located at Jalan Cihampelas)
Rumah mode is my favorite. we went to this fo 3 times. yea 3 times! we went there on our first day we reached bandung, on our 3rd day and our last day. the clothings are a bit pricey but this house has many fine qualities. they have a lot of branded clothes esp american brands such as Hollister, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, Old navy, Gap and etc. they also have Esprit, Polo, Bebe, Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani and the list goes on...

2) Heritage (located at Jalan Riau)
i recommend you to visit this place if you wanna buy men's clothings. i bought few tee shirts here such as Esprit and Armani. i got these few tees for 49,500 rupiahs (rp) each so is about rm17/tee. it's cheap and affordable if you wanna buy tees for your bf/father/husband/friends. i was rather disappointed because heritage does not allow you to try mostly their female's tee shirts and dresses. i chose a lot of baby tees and a dress but they did not allow us to try it on. reason being - i don't know what they said. i asked them whether they are afraid that i will make it loose after trying it? the staff just nodded. (i don't think they understand our language.)

3) The Secret - everyone has it (located at Jalan Riau)
i kind of like this name - everyone has secret. a lot of dresses, working attire, casual wears at this fo. good place to explore.

Other streets that you can explore:

-Toko 3 (is actually at Jalan Cihampelas-jeans are sold at this place, cheap clothings but qualities are not as good as in rumah mode). below are some of the pics taken at toko 3. all the statues are found there.

-Jalan Riau
-Jalan Dago (i don't really like this street 'cos the fos are kinda expensive)

You should take "angkutan" which is a mini van. it works like a mini bus, but you must becareful when you get into and off the van. i hit my head few times when i got off from the van. the max a mini van can accomodate is 15 people including the driver. you will see many angkutan, so don't worry. i never took taxi but according to my travelmate she doesn't recommend taxi cos it's expensive. we pay 2,000 rp each way when riding the angkutan. how to know how much to pay? it depends on the distance. 5,000 rp is sufficient to cover 2 persons. we wanted to pay 6,000 rp at first, but one local woman told us 5,000 rp is sufficient although we did ask the driver how much is the fare. NEVER EVER ASK THE DRIVER HOW MUCH TO PAY. THE LOCALS DO NOT ASK, COS THEY KNOW HOW MUCH TO PAY. minimum is 1,000 rp/person if the distance is very near. some drivers will not send you to the actual destination. they will just drop you at street you are not familiar with and you gotta walk to your destination. one driver even cheated us. 1st they promised to send us, later on he dropped us and asked us to take another angkutan. shit him. no it's shit on him.

on our 2nd last day, we booked extra 20kg for our luggage. we worried that we might not have enough rupiahs for extra baggage so we booked the extra for rm35. on our last day we have 2 checked-in luggages and 2 foldable bags. our initial 20kg is sufficient so we wasted the 20kg that we booked online.

always remember to check:

1) if breakfast is included in ur accomodation. i booked thru agoda and they didn't state whether they provide breakfast in their website and we assumed that they provide us. we got to know breakfast is not provided after i got the hotel confirmatio from agoda. so we ended up having instant noodle cup for breakfast. (instant noodles serve as a good breakfast :))

2) check with hotel if they provide free transfer. from bandung airport to hotel, the taxi fare is 35,000 rp. we didn't know novotel hotel actually provide free transfer. so we wasted our 35,000 rp per taxi. we got to know from aris (our driver to volcano tour) that airport transfer is actually provided by the hotel.
3) your money (rupiahs). since there is so many zero, you must check properly your note. the largest note is 100,000 rp which is equivalent to 34rm.

I don't wanna be a maid!!

i was back from bandung, indonesia on the 13th. i will write a long entry for the bandung trip. overall the trip was good! i am satisfied with this trip and hope to visit bandung again maybe in 2 years time? haha...

today i wanna talk about being treated like a maid. how do you know whether you are treated like a maid? i'll show you how.

when someone asks you to:

1) pay to cashier when both of you are actually finish eating (he/she gave you the money)

2) tapau food and request you to carry it for her/him

3) send you to get info when actually both of you are entering the shop together

4) turn off the ac (just because you are standing near to the ac)

ok i suddenly have this feeling that people like to instruct me to do this and that and in fact they can actually do it themselves. are they lazy or what? or just because they were born the eldest and they are used to instruct their siblings/friends? or because they are too dependent?

i will be more careful and will ignore this kind of people and live my own way. i just realized today and was asking myself...about people treating you like a maid. it's not about being calculative but some people are just born to be like this.

off to bandung, indonesia tomorrow. yeah!!!!

will be back after this!

Saturday, January 1, 2011

it's the first day of the new year....i received messages and sms-es even the day before. all messages were happy 2011, wishing you and your family a blessed and peaceful new year, may new year brings love, good health, great wealth, success and luck to you and etc.

new year is really nothing new as i know i still need to eat, live, sleep, shower, laugh, curse, work, dream, sigh, shit, pee and many more. everyday is so routine. i don't hate being a homo sapien as i get to eat and sleep. do you hate to eat and sleep? i believe, no. everyday is the same, the only difference is today was the 1st day of new year of 2011. yeah!!

i wanna be happier everyday, it's not that i am unhappy but i wanna be happier, happiness is one of the most important elements in my life.

*** susan will start using more "I" than "we." It sounds more personal but doesn't mean she can reveal too much info***
